My Week in TwitPics: April 16th

As another week passes, my obsession with Twitpic-ing the mundane aspects of my life has not subsided.

And, it is that time, kiddies, for another rendition of, "My Week in TwitPics"...please, hold you applause!

Please enjoy my week in picture form...BOOM:

My bestie, Nicole, and I being stupid! Yes, those are penis pops. We went to Spencer's Gifts and bought one of our friends penis pops for her birthday! Oops?

Three above pics are from interning. The first is the Elvis Duran stamp being accidently stamped onto one of the interns hands. The second is of one of the producers brushing her teeth in the office, LOL. And the third is a stupid email I had sent one of the interns! I won't say names or anything because it's my blog and I don't think there is a need for it. That being said if you want to see who it is about, you can check my twitter!
At a Fordham-Iona baseball game for my sports class with two of the "bestest" people ever, Nicole and Jessica!
Nicole and Jess being "cray" at the game!
So, I went to the tattoo parlor the other day, and this was one of the examples of a tattoo. Not so odd, right? Wrong! Those names are my brother and his GF's names!! WEIRD!
Sunday Funday with Jess and Nikk...being stupid on photobooth!
I'm sick...insert sad face here! So, last night I was rocking a top knot, my BIG TIME RUSH SHIRT...yes...and just took some nyquill!!!
Taking some more photo booth pics. This time we kind of sent this photo to Kendall Schmidt of BTR...it was a momentary lapse in judgement. The caption? You got some SCHMIDt on your face." BAHA!
The two top pics are from a party this past weekend for my non-collegiate sorority, KTE. The first is Jess and I and the second is Jess, Nicole and I enjoying some amazing RUMMY BEARS...rum soaked gummy bears! YUM!

Anyway, that was my week in a nutshell...or in my twitter photos. Yeah, I'm pretty insane and yes my life really is this random. Enjoying it now? Just you wait until my summer adventures begin!!

Until next time! Cheerio!

Spring Fashion Wish List

Spring is here and I am over the moon. Not that I have much to complain about considering my winter was a barely there sort of in between time when it snowed a total of two days and one of those days was on Halloween...go figure, right?

Anyway, one of my favorite parts about a new season, is all of the new fashion to buy and the trends to try. I tend to buy a few trendy items per season and whatever tickles my fancy really. For spring, there are quite a few things on my list that I am craving! I thought I'd give you a little sneak peak at my spring fashion wish list and maybe you'd feel inspired to go and check these items out for yourself!

1. Maxi Skirt
I'm 5'4'' and that is pretty short compared to my friends who are all taller than me. Heels are my best friend and anything that can make me look taller makes me feel way cooler. Maxi skirts are something that I always thought I could never get away with being short. However, after scouring the internet for outfit inspiration and ideas, I have to say, this look is starting to grow on me. I have been feeling particularly trendy and bohemian lately, maybe it's the change in weather or my wish to be at Coachella 2012, I don't really know. Either way, this trend has been back every season for years, and I'm really liking how it can be paired to be trendy and fun, but still comfortable and work on my short frame. Here are some examples of how I'd absolutely love to wear a maxi skirt!
Love the crop top with the long skirt on Miley Cyrus at The Hunger Games premiere. It really balances out the look! How perfect would this be for a casual dinner or BBQ with friends! On my MUST TRY. Also love the cotton maxi on the right with the top knot. Super trendy, but super comfy!

2. Chambray Shirt
This brings me to my next item...chambray shirts! The look has been everywhere and I am falling in love with it every time I see it! As a jeans girl all the way, I love the idea of a denim shirt! I love button ups because I feel like they are so versatile and you can really do anything with them! Here's some ways I would love to wear a denim shirt, and I plan on doing just that!
I love the idea of a denim shirt hanging open over something sparkly or even a casual tee. I think it gives it a polished look while still super casual. I also love a darker wash with white jeans...summer perfection!

3. High-Low Skirt
This is something I have been searching high and low for...pun intended. I love the asymmetrical hemline and I feel like it can be so dressed up or just beyond perfect for anything. I'm aiming for one in a chiffon like fabric that is lightweight and has an "airy" quality to it. Here's some inspiration:
I seriously love these two looks. The first is so girly, fun and more subtle than the next. The second is more bold and something I can see myself wearing for the summer months. From the casual tee to the adorable wide brimmed fedora and the red high low skirt, it is all so fun!

4. Black Fedora
I have a love for hats, especially for summer, and one I have been hunting for forever is a nice black fedora. Feathers would be nice, but it can be so simple that it would work with any outfit under the sun! This one is pretty self explanatory, but to give you an idea, here is a picture of one of my new found style inspirations, Demi Lovato, rocking the kind of look I die for:

I just love the way she has this hat on with a nice white outfit. The curls keep it fun and not too serious and I love how the hat is rimmed and sits on her head. This is a must have for me!

Okay, so that was some of my fashion wish list for spring. I am so sure that there is a bigger list than this, but these are the things I have actively been hunting for! Seriously, I have been dying to get my hands on these things, and a constant stream of online shopping will occur if I can find even one item that I am dying for!

I hope you enjoyed the fashion geek in me come out...it was super fun for me too!

All That Glitters is Rose Gold

I love all things sparkly. It's true. I am what you would call a glitter girl. I'm like Ariel from the little mermaid; I just can't resist something shiny. It grabs my attention and frankly, it kind of distracts me.

I have a personal belief that everything in life would be so much better if glitter was just added to it.

Recently, I have discovered a new obsession that I can't believe it has taken me so long to have come to fruition. I am obsessed with Rose Gold. I am not a gold girl as I personally just love silver. However, rose gold is the perfect mix of pink and gold, and it's pretty, sparkly and best of all unique!

Something I have been pining over, and I mean PINING over, for months, hell even years, has been a Michael Kors watch. He is not my favorite designer, but his lines are clean and sharp and the only thing I can describe him as is classic. Michael Kors is classic. His jewelry is some of the best out there and his watches are impeccable. The one I have my eye on is a gorgeous large face watch that is completely covered in rose gold. I am dying to have a nice watch and this watch is so me, it's not even funny! So, once I save money for all of the other ridiculous things in my life, I have to somehow scrounge up $250 for this amazing accessory.

Another thing that has fueled my obsession is this fantastic nail polish I bought recently. It's by Orly and it's called, RAGE. I've heard great things about this polish in the blogosphere and have been dying to, literally, get my hands on this color. While I was browsing the aisles in Harmons, attempting to find the perfect gold-ish nail varnish, I came across this color, and couldn't resist it's metallic finish. It's a perfect mix between pink and gold with this iridescence to it that would make any glitter girl just die...alla Clueless! This too, made me love the rose gold trend even more than I had thought.

And finally...the hair color I have is what I was born with. It has not been chemically treated once and with me turning 21 this summer, I think it's time for a little bit of a change: I want to dye my hair. I just want something different and more importantly, something fun. I'm only young once and with the summer, it's time to just go crazy! A trend I read about in Glamour was, believe it or not, rose gold hair. It has been seen on Lauren Conrad, with her dip dyed hair. And, according to the article, Demi Lovato (who I love) tinted her entire head the golden hue, giving her hair this amazing red shine to it. So, I admit, I may want to just be like Demi Lovato, but the hair color looks so fun, and the upside, it's not permanent! This is something I want to try ASAP! Whether it be to tint the entirety of my dark brown locks, or to throw some strategically placed rose gold highlights within my hair. Either way, this is something I can totally get behind, and being that I have a newfound obsession with the color, I think it's a good fit! Stay tuned on this one...I'm still doing the research!

A model with dark hair rocking the rose gold hair trend in her bangs.

I admit this is a random post. However, isn't the point of my new blog to try and do some legitimate blogging about my random life and obsessions with fashion and stuff?

Anyway, I will have to keep you posted on my new rose gold adventures, and until I can save the money and do the research, my hair will remain it's boring dark brown hue, my Michael Kors watch will stay in the store, but my nails will remain this color for as long as my bottle lasts!

Six Flags, More Fun!

On Monday, April 9th, my brother and two best friends and I went to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. We all had off from school and with no other plans, we decided to take a little road trip and attempt the impossible...getting to ride King da Ka!

Jess, Me, and Nicole at Six Flags!

A little back story on that perhaps? It's been three years since we started taking summer trips to Six Flags. Every time we go we have a few expectations and intentions for the day. One: we want to get on as many rides as possible without ridiculous lines. Two: we want amazing weather where we can wear shorts and tank tops, but still rock some adorable beachy hair and not have our makeup melt off. And tres: we want to ride King da Ka. Well, every time we went, it was closed. Seriously, I was starting to think we were jinxed or something!!

So, Monday rolls around, and of course, as luck would have it...it was THE windiest day of the year so far. I mean windy to the point of my car being pushed around on the turnpike. Seriously, not fun.

Everything was closed that day. There was probably a total of two or three rides that actually stayed open. But after making the trip, we figured we might as well make the best of it.

We headed to Batman. The wait was like an hour and half or so, but with nothing else open, we seriously had nothing to lose. Next, we headed to Bizzaro. The line moved fast and damn, is that ride not one of the best rides at the park! The insane loops and twists would make anyone green and yet, I can never get enough! Finally, we decided to opt for Green Lantern. They said the wait was an hour or so...two and a half hours later, we got off the ride feeling kind of empty and not yet satisfied. That is until...

KING DA KA!

Us waiting on line for King da Ka!

Yes, ladies and gents. It finally happened! As we were on the excruciating line for Green Lantern, we saw King da Ka being tested out over and over. It wasn't until we saw people raise their hands in the air that we realized it was running! So...we ran over to the line and luckily, it was about an hour wait. We could not wait to finally get on the ride. Over and over again we watched the coaster speed by us and well, needless to say we were giddy with anticipation. Finally, we got to the line and we were so close all of us couldn't contain ourselves. The best part was three coasters in front of us, there was a roll back. A roll back is what happens with King da Ka. Sometimes the coaster just doesn't make it over the hill, and apparently it's normal, so no need to fret...even though almost everyone does!

So, we get in the seats and we were literally bouncing up and down. Well, that quickly ended when we all realized what was about to happen in less then 3 seconds; speeds of about 128 miles per hour, heading 90 degrees up at about 476 feet in the air. That thing shot so fast in the air, I could barely catch my breath! All of us were screaming and living in the moment and pretty excited about everything. As we went over the hill, my friend screamed, YOLO. Not my favorite phrase, but in the moment it was satisfying enough.

After the ride, our hair was blown, our hope was restored and we had felt accomplished as we crossed one very daunting thing off of our respective bucket lists.

The picture was beyond priceless we had to buy it. Now it replaces my "2009" key chain on my keys that I got at HS graduation, as a way to commemorate one of the best days with some amazing people...a new chapter. Check it out below:

It was a fun day and I can NOT wait for summer to come and for us to give it another go. Best 28 seconds of my day and I literally would not change a thing about that day.

And my friends and brother loved it, too!

My Week in TwitPics-Week of April 9th

Hello guys! Welcome to my second installment of , "My Week in TwitPics"!!!

I have a serious problem. I love taking stupid photos and tweeting them. I don't know maybe it makes me feel cool like all of the celebrities who tweet cool pics all the time and make us feel jealous of their awesome lives. Or, I could just be a loser...I don't know!!

Anyway, someone take a  camera phone away from me...but seriously, don't!!!

Anyway...here you go!!

Me rocking my feather earring from bysamiiryan! I am so obsessed with her style and her stuff and I love this earring! My new favorite thing that I got in the mail!

The interns and HOT CHELLE RAE! They were so cute and adorable and it's a cute pic! TONIGHT...TONIGHT!!

Chilling in the METS dugout. NO BIG DEAL! But, oh my, it was cool. I may not like my sports journalism class, but this was amazing!!

The bestie and I being hipster and awesome at our friend's play!

My amazing talented friend, Dana, singing and dancing and doing her thing!

Enjoying a little Mexican food!

I wore some red lips and rocked a top knot!! Also, the sun made this look cool, so I posted it! HAHA

One of the other interns, Hannah, got a special $20 from JJ on z100. He wrote a special message for when she used it. "Earned this from hooking." Too funny!

David Wright's helmet. I hate the Mets, but oh how I love David Wright.

Carly Rae Jepsen stopped by. She was adorable and I am OBSESSED with her song, "Call Me Maybe."

The besties, brother and I hit up SIX FLAGS Great Adventure on Monday. It was a fun trip and we rode KING DA KA(post to follow). It was an epic day and I love these crazies!

So, that was it. That was my week. I told you I have a problem. Someone take Dexter away!!! P.S. Dexter is my phone's name. But really, I would die without a phone, so don't do that, actually! haha

Anyway, this taught me I should try to slow down with my TwiPics...and yet, I probably won't.

Hope you enjoyed!!

My Week in TwitPics-FIRST WEEK OF APRIL

So, as previously posted, I am trying to figure things out with this new blog.

An idea that just popped into my head, was to try out a featurette called, "My Week in TwitPics."

Basically, I have developed a weird addiction to taking the most random pictures with my phone and uploading them to Twitter. So, I figured, why not share this with you all, and show you what a week in the life of me is...in Twitter photos. Or at least...the moments I deemed hilarious or epic enough to have a photo taken of it.

So without further adieu....here is my first installment of "My Week in TwitPics," for the first week of April!

My view driving into NYC for my internship at 4am on Thursday morning. Gorgeous and clear night. Look at that moon and the GW bridge. AMAZEBALLS.

My attempt at a cool fashion manicure. Idea from Pinterest; which I am slowly becoming addicted to! Follow me at www.pinterest.com/daniellemcosta!!!

Awkward photo of me driving up to my sister's house. I was feeling very floral that day.

My adorable Goddaughter chewing on a cup. The poor thing is teething...OUCH!
RED SOLO CUP comes to mind! ;)

HAPPY EASTER!! My niece and I in some bunny ears. Crappy quality, but it is a phone photo, right? You have to love the randomness!

My sister teasing my brother in law by putting a bib on him and fake feeding him. It was hilarious. NOM NOM NOM! I less than three my crazy family sometimes!!

It was also, DRAW A PICTURE OF A BIRD DAY!!!

My version of a Easter ensemble. It's my Sunday best!! I have been feeling the boho style as of late...and I thought this hat with a winged eyeliner and red lip look would be adorbz for Easter!!

Okay...so that's pretty much all of the Twitpics that would work for this type of post. I think that when I do take a bunch of pics, this would be a cute little featurette to throw in this blog. Like I said, it's a work in progress, so be prepared for changes and a lot of things to be fixed and changed and tweaked and...you get the idea!

Anyway, this was my week in TwitPics!!

Hope you enjoyed the random moments that I think need to be photographed and posted to the internet!

Welcome!

Welcome peeps!

I'm Danielle. I'm 20 years old. I love Reeses peanut butter cups, music and TV shows are my life, Barney Stintson from How I Met Your Mother is my spirit animal, I enjoy singing and dancing, reading is my escape and I love anything that glitters.

I'm a girly girl with an edge. I'm more sarcastic than I probably should be and more quirky than anyone but Zooey Deschanel should be.

My life consists of awkward moments, crazy misadventures and random photos to commemorate the crazy lives we are living.

I'm a journalism major, which basically means I write a lot and sit on the internet for hours on end procrastinating all of that writing. I'm a junior which also means my senioritis has sort of sunk in already, which clearly is not good because I am not even a senior yet and I have a year left of school.

This is probably attempt 40 at a blog like this. I love blogging, but most of the time, the blog falls by the waist side with the 150 million other projects I do at a time.

This time will be different though...hopefully.

This blog, originally entitled, Boys, Boots and Bars, for no real apparent reason, has since been changed and remodeled to fit something that would work better for me.The new title, Fedoras and Feathers, more accurately describes me and my personality. If you can guess, I'm pretty obsessed with fedoras and have a love for sticking feathers in my hair and calling it hipster. This blog is really about anything and everything and I am working on making it something I will love to write in on a weekly basis. That's another thing, I'm giving myself a deadline of sorts. Since my life is insane right now and school is winding down, I have no time to breathe...let alone blog everyday. So, with that being said...

Every Saturday or so, I will post a random post about fashion, hair, beauty, stories, celebrities, or anything really that tickles my fancy. This blog has no rules, and I want to keep it that way. It's a constant work in progress, so if anyone is sticking with it, I applaud you and will give you a cookie at a later date.

Until then, enjoy my attempt at cool blogging and please feel free to laugh at me...I wouldn't want it any other way.
